Glen Dimplex's Lec brand launched a limited edition, eco-designed refrigerator in the UK with a European A+ energy efficiency rating. All Lec undercounter appliances are now rated A+, and Lec’s launched its "quirky, eco themed fridge" to raise awareness about the cost saving benefits of going green in the kitchen.

The fridge uses 60% less energy than less efficient models and the company said homeowners upgrading to a Lec model U5010W can save up to £28 per year on energy bills.

All Lec A+ products have the recommendation of the Energy Saving Trust, and carry the Energy Saving Trust logo.

The Energy Saving Trust is a UK-based organization designed to be an impartial expert on saving energy and reducing carbon emissions. The organization is government and private sector funded.
