Charlotte Skidmore, former Associate Director of Environment and Regulation for the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), joined the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) as Director of Energy Analysis.

In the newly created position, Skidmore will provide technical and policy analysis of top AHAM issues such as smart grid and appliance energy standards. She reports to Kevin Messner, AHAM’s Vice President of Government Relations.

Messner said Skidmore's background was ideal for the position. “She has extensive federal and legislative experience in Washington and is an environmental engineer. Her expertise will add to AHAM’s substantive public policy efforts,” Messner said.

Prior to her work on the CEQ, Charlotte served as a Program Examiner at the White House Office of Management and Budget and Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives. Her previous experience also includes work as an environmental engineer in government and in the private sector.

The Director of Energy Analysis is one of three newly created positions at AHAM, added to address the association's heavy regulatory and technical agenda and the increased reliance upon AHAM by member companies.
