Swedish-based appliance giant Electrolux made new management team appointments, which follow on Keith McLoughlin's move into the president/CEO position on Jan. 1, 2011.
Jonas Samuelson was appointed to take McLoughlin's former positions of chief operations officer and head of Global Operations Major Appliances. Samuelson will retain his current responsibilities as chief financial officer. He will continue to report to the CEO and be a member of group management.
Jan Brockmann was appointed to the new position of chief technology officer, with global responsibility for technology development in the group. Brockmann will report to the CEO and be a member of group management. The new position was created to further strengthen the appliance maker's innovation capacity.
MaryKay Kopf, currently responsible for marketing at Electrolux Major Appliances North America, will become the group's chief marketing officer with responsibility for brand management, marketing, and design. Kopf will report to the CEO and be a member of group management.
“The new appointments will enable Electrolux to accelerate innovation in products and brand.,” said McLoughlin. “By taking advantage of our global size and scope we will bring innovation to the market faster.”
Electrolux said the changes are intended to accelerate implementation of its core strategy, which is based on innovative products, investments in the Electrolux brand, and keeping a competitive cost position. The appointments become effective Feb. 1, 2011.
