Hitachi, Ltd. will restructure its global research and development into a new framework that will be in place on April 1, 2011. It will double its overseas R&D personnel, currently about 150, in fiscal 2012 and will create a new R&D base in India.
Hitachi will reorganize its research laboratories in Japan into three enhanced centers and plans to accelerate the development of a global R&D operation dedicated to supporting growth in each region, centered on its four business bases: China, Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
