Range hood OEM Vent-A-Hood reported record results for 2010, with a 14% increase in North American sales compared to 2009.

Mark Klein, director of sales for Vent-A-Hood, said the company "sought to raise the bar for our industry, and consumers responded in a way that defied the economy."

A notable product introduction for the company in 2010 was the Air Recovery System series (pictured), the first duct-free range hoods from the company. The appliance maker said the ARS series answered significant consumer demand; it uses a four-phase system to recover clean air in duct-free ventilation.

The company also launched its Build-A-Hood program in 2010. The online design and ordering system allows customers to design and order any of its Designer Series hoods via a proprietary internet program on the Vent-A-Hood web site. The company said orders were being processed within minutes after the program went live and it now plans to expand the program to all of its canopy designs.

The company was founded in 1933 and its based in Richardson, TX, making it the oldest manufacturer of residential range hoods in the U.S. The company manufactures its range hoods in the United States.
