Daewoo's Global Microwave Production Tops 80 million Milestone Dec 15, 2010 |

Global appliance maker Daewoo Electronics, based in Korea, manufactured its 80-millionth microwave oven in December 2010.
The company produced its first microwave in Gwang-ji, Korea in 1985, and produced a total of 8170 microwaves in that year. Daewoo had produced 10 million units by 1992 and 40 million by 2001.
