The U.S. Census Bureau reported that adjusted Electronics & Appliance Store sales in October 2010 were $8.647 billion, down slightly from $8.708 billion in September but much higher than the $8.345 billion reported in October 2009.
The most recent adjusted sales estimates for Appliance, TV, & Camera Stores, a subcategory of Electronics & Appliance Stores, is for September 2010, when they were $6.727 billion, up slightly from $6.621 in August 2010. Appliance, TV, & Camera Store sales in September 2009 were $6.596 billion.
The U.S. Census Bureau does not report "advanced estimates" for Appliance, TV, & Camera Stores, a subcategory of Electronics & Appliance Stores. For that reason, Estimated Monthly Sales in this subcategory are reported a month later than the category. The category, Electronics & Appliance Stores, also includes another subcategory, Computer & Software Stores.
"Adjusted" estimated monthly sales are adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes.
