Expansion continues in the United States and a few other nations while China and Brazil may be seeing a downturn – this as September OECD composite leading indicators (CLIs) point to diverging patterns of economic growth across major economies.
Continuing expansion is indicated by the CLIs for:
• Germany
• Japan
• United States
• Russia
The CLIs point to a moderate downturn for:
• Canada
• France
• India
• Italy
• United Kingdom
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) reported that the CLIs for Brazil and China continue to point strongly downwards, implying that industrial production will fall below its longer-term trend in these two economies.
