The latest retail PMI (Purchasing Managers’ Index,) data from Markit covering the Eurozone indicated that sales fell for the second month in a row in September. The seasonally adjusted Eurozone Retail PMI, which tracks monthly changes in the value of sales at retailers, remained below the no-change mark of 50.0. The PMI fell to 48.7, from 49.7, for a slightly faster rate of decline than in August. However, over the third quarter as a whole, the PMI signaled the best performance since Q2 2007.
