Miele Appliances Nab Innovative Green Design Award

The 2010 Innovative Green Design Award (IGDA) panel recognized appliance maker Miele for its reputation of reliability and durability.
The honor was presented by New York House magazine at the GreenBuildingsNY conference where, where select brands were recognized for leveraging green business practices and for developing sustainable innovations.
Miele was awarded special distinction in the category of Reliability and Lifespan for three appliances, including the G 2002 dishwasher, super large capacity washer/tumble dryer, and the Independence Series bottom-mount refrigerator. "The panel of independent
judges felt the company deserved special mention as Outstanding for these qualities among all the many entries in the appliances category," said Nancy Meyer, editor of New York House magazine.
"They (Miele) are built to last. It's not something you have to throw out in 8 to 10 years," stated Doug Mazeffa, green marketing researcher and one of the five judges from the awards committee. The panel of five experts from architecture and design vetted the international field of entries and debated the environmental impact and issues surrounding each product.
