Appliance Retailer Gome Revamps Leadership Roles

The board of Gome Electrical Appliances Holding Ltd., China's biggest appliance retail chain with approx. US$6.3 billion in revenue in 2009, split the roles of president and chairman into two separate positions and named Wang Jun Zhou president of the company. Chen Xiao will remain as chairman and executive director.

The board believes separating the chairman and president roles will management’s effectiveness.

Mr. Wang is now responsible for Gome’s daily operations and business performance. Mr. Chen will work closely with the board and senior management to drive strategy formation and assess its execution.
