Sharp to Boost Japanese Output of LCD TVs

Sharp Corp. reported Tuesday that it plans to raise the ratio of liquid-crystal display (LCD) televisions to 76 percent of its Japanese TV sales by the end of September 2003. Sales of LCD TVs were at 62 percent at the end of March, according to the company.

The company has reportedly sold 500,000 LCD TVs year-to-date in Japan.
