U.S. production of major plastic resins totaled 6.5 billion pounds in March 2010, an increase of 13.4% compared to the same month in 2009, according to statistics from the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 18.6 billion pounds, a 10.0% increase from 2009.
Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 6.3 billion pounds during March 2010, an increase of 12.5% from the same month in 2009. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 18.4 billion pounds, a 9.5% increase compared to 2009.
