Arcelik Earns TPM Awards

Turkish-based appliance OEM Arcelik A.Ş. earned Total Productive Management (TPM) awards from the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM). The awards, presented at a ceremony in Kyoto, recognized two of Arcelik's plants in Turkey: the Eskişehir Refrigerator Plant and Bolu Cooking Appliances Plant.

Arcelik said it implemented production management systems in the plants with the aim to eliminate losses and maximize efficiency. Both the plants successfully passed a two-stage audit performed by independent auditors in order to qualify for the awards.

Having received the JIPM's Award for TPM Excellence in 2004 and an Award for Excellence in Consistent TPM Commitment in 2006, Eskişehir has become the first white goods appliance plant anywhere in the world to receive a JIPM Special Award for TPM Achievement.

Arcelik aid all its plants in Turkey have now TPM awards, and worldwide its plants have earned 11 such awards.
