Staples, Inc., regarded as the world's largest office supplies retailer, is taking a firmer foothold in Australia. It intends to purchase all the shares in Corporate Express Australia Ltd. Staples already owns 58.6% of Corporate Express shares.
The board said it would unanimously recommend the merger.
