Evolution Robotics, Inc. is partnering with a team of former executives from floor care maker Dirt Devil to bring the Mint automatic floor cleaner to market later this year.
The Mint robotic floor cleaning appliance is designed exclusively for hard surface floor cleaning. It automatically dusts and wet mops hard surface floors using Swiffer and other brands of popular cleaning cloths. Evolution is exhibiting the Mint at the 2010 International Home & Housewares show, running Mar. 14-16.
Evolution Robotics’ dream team of sales and marketing experts and floor care veterans includes Mike Merriman, former president and CEO of Royal Appliance Manufacturing Co., the former publicly held parent company of Dirt Devil, Inc., who recently joined the Evolution board of directors. He is joined by other former Royal executives, Rick Farone and David Brickner, who specialize in bringing new products to the consumer market.
The team also includes former Royal vice president of sales Pat Sullivan and vice president of marketing Jim Holcomb.
With this team, said Evolution CEO Dr. Paolo Pirjanian, "We are well-positioned and confident that we will be a serious new player in the floor care industry.”
Mint is scheduled to be available through direct channels in Q3 2010 and retail outlets in Q4 2010 at a price under $250.
