The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) released U.S. sales-to-dealers numbers for video consumer electronics for the month of January 2010.
For the four weeks ending January 29, 2010, sales of camcorders were 330,138 units, compared to sales of 195,414 units in January 2009.
Sales of DVD Players were 1,649,412 units, compared to 1,282,460 units in January 2009. This category includes standalone DVD, DVD/VCR, and DVD recorders.
Sales of Blu-ray Disc Players were 441,494 units, compared to 259,808 in January 2009.
Sales of Digital TVs were 4,230,958, compared to 3,956,350 units in January 2009. This category includes LCD, PDP, and other flat panel technologies
