Fisher & Paykel Appliances Holdings Ltd. said fiscal year 2010 first half earnings would probably be lower than it had earlier predicted and said it would likely suffer a loss for the year. F&P blamed stronger-than-expected competition and continued depressed market conditions in the United States, particularly in high-end appliances. North American sales revenue in U.S. dollars is now forecast to finish the year approximately 12% below what was earlier forecast. The net loss for the year is now predicted to be $2-5 million.
