Factory Orders Increase in July Sep 3, 2009 |

Orders to U.S. factories rose 1.3% in July, said a Commerce Department report.
An 18.5% increase in transportation goods orders drove the overall increase.
Orders for durable goods rose 5.1% in July, the most in two years. Orders for nondurable goods, such as food, petroleum products and chemicals, fell 1.9%, the most since December.
