Designed with a flatbed scanning area that accommodates single-sheets or bound documents up to legal size, the company reports that the new series comes with print speeds up to 17ppm, increased memory, and a new 5-line back-lit LCD display. The top-of-the-line MFC-8820DN further adds built-in networking capability, the company says. According to the company, all three models include high-speed USB 2.0 and parallel interfaces, and are compatible with both Windows(R) and Mac(R) operating systems. Shipments of all three models are expected to begin in mid-May 2003.
