Sharp and Sony established a subsidiary company to produce LCD panels. The company will be called Sharp Display Products Corp. and will be located in Osaka, Japan after construction is completed. Hiroshi Saji, currently a Sharp corporate advisor, was named president of the new venture.
Sharp is investing ¥100 million (approx. US$1.02 million) and will own 100% of the new company. The new company will produce and sell large-size LCD panels and LCD modules using the world's first 10th generation mother glass substrates.
