Emerson Climate Technologies launched the Blue Selecto thermostat line, the first Spanish-language-only programmable thermostats. The company says the Blue Selecto can save Hispanic homeowners up to US$250-300 per year on seasonal energy costs.

With a Spanish language display, the thermostat gives a choice of setting the perfect climate for their home, programming their heater or air-conditioner to turn on or off, or lowering or raising temperatures.

Emerson says that programmable thermostats can save consumers up to 30% on their household winter energy costs. Emerson has also provided a Spanish-speaking consumer helpline for contractors and homeowners with operational questions.

As part of Emerson's larger initiative to support the Hispanic market, Emerson is also offering Spanish-speaking contractors a HVACR Spanish language NATE (North American Technician Excellence, Inc.) certification preparatory courses on digital thermostat operation.
