The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) will move its annual meeting, scheduled Nov. 15-18, 2009, from the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, FL, U.S., to a hotel in Washington, DC.
"The weak economy and declining sales have combined to create a difficult time for our industry," AHRI said. "The industry’s trade association – AHRI – is obviously not immune to the economic downturn and must look at ways to reduce our costs and our members’ costs."
"This was a difficult decision for the association, as it has been for many other associations and companies," AHRI added. "The combined benefits of drastically reduced travel costs for staff and reduced travel and registration costs for members, however, make this the correct choice."
AHRI said it is in the process of negotiating a hotel for the meeting, and will send an invitation and program schedule to association members in the summer.
