The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) named Matthew B. Williams director of Standards.
Williams will be responsible for the development, management, and accreditation of AHAM’s 20 performance standards. Additionally, he will provide technical assistance and advocacy of AHAM efforts related to external standards.
Since 1998, he has served as the director/standardization for the Aerospace Industries Association. Previously, he held various positions at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.
Separately, Kevin Messner was named vice president of Government Affairs, responsible for directing AHAM’s legislative, regulatory, political, and grass-roots programs. Messner succeeds David Calabrese, who left the association to become vice president of public affairs for AHRI.
Before joining AHAM, Messner was associate administrator of the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. General Services Administration.
