LG CTO Selected "Leader in World Safety" Dec 4, 2008 |

The chief technology officer of LG Electronics, Dr. Woo Paik, was selected as the winner of "Leaders in World Safety" by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) for setting a global standard for safety in new products. This is the first year that UL has given the award.
Dr. Paik is known throughout the industry as the "Father of HDTV" and was inducted into the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame and the Academy of Digital Television Pioneers.
