The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) launched a new standards committee, R10 Residential Systems. The new committee will establish bulletins and standards for design and installation of residential systems.

The R10 Residential Committee’s first project will revise the ANSI/CEA-2030 Multi-room Audio Cabling Standard, which provides a detailed blueprint for adding multi-room distributed audio to homes as well as ample graphics and charts with suggested set-ups. The group will also work on CEA/CEDIA Home Theater Recommended Practice: Audio Design.

The R10 Residential Committee will be co-chaired by Walt Zerbe, product manager, audio/video, Russound and Mario Leone, senior partner, Electronic Solutions Company. For more information, visit www.CE.org/Standards/1447.asp.
