U.S. Durable Goods Orders Rise Oct 30, 2008 |

New orders for long-lasting manufactured goods rose unexpectedly in September by 0.8%, according to the Commerce Department.
The jump in orders for durable goods followed a 5.5% drop in August, previously reported as a 4.8% decline.
