The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) opened a directory for HVAC installers and contractors at www.ahridirectory.org. The directory includes performance certified heating, cooling, ventilation, and commercial refrigeration equipment.

The new directory is the natural result of the January 2008 merger between the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) and the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA). The two organizations each listed certified products for installers in separate online directories, which have now been combined.

For each listed product listed in the directory, installers can print a "Certificate of Product Performance" that includes the product’s certified ratings. The certificates are often required by utilities or municipalities for rebates or incentives offered for energy efficiency upgrades made to homes or commercial buildings. They also are required for federal energy efficiency tax deductions or incentives.
