AISI Appoints Gibson as Sharkey Retires

The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) said today that it selected Thomas J. Gibson to serve as the association’s president and chief executive officer. Gibson is currently senior vice president of advocacy for the American Chemistry Council (ACC). He will assume his AISI responsibilities on September 1.

Gibson will succeed long-time AISI President and CEO Andrew G. Sharkey, III, who is retiring after leading the Institute for 15 years and following a 30-year career leading steel-related trade associations.
