LG Electronics Inc. denied a local media report that Sweden's Electrolux had invited the company to bid jointly with it for General Electric Co's appliances unit.
The Korea Economic Daily had reported that LG Electronics was mulling the proposal from Electrolux, citing unnamed industry sources.
"We have not been approached by Electrolux," said Judy Pae, an LG spokeswoman.
Recently, GE Chief Executive Jeff Immelt named five non-U.S. appliance manufacturers, including China's Haier , LG Electronics, Electrolux, Mexico's Controladora Mabe and Turkey's Arcelik , as potential bidders for its appliances business. (AP)
