Mississauga, Ontario, Canada-based Whirlpool has won honors for best call center culture and best use of technology in annual awards presented by the International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC).
“Whirlpool Corporation has a long commitment to customer service excellence,” said Michael A. Todman, president of Whirlpool North America, in a press release. “We were the first company to establish a toll-free customer service support telephone line and we continue to work hard to ensure we meet the needs of our customers every single day."
Whirlpool has a service call center in Mississauga as well as three in the United States. The IQPC’s 2008 call center excellence awards recognize the most innovative call center solutions and individuals from over the past year. Awards are handed out in nine categories, recognizing creative thinking and execution across the full spectrum of functions.
As well as its two first-place finishes, Whirlpool received a runner-up award for best in class call centre (for those with more than 200 staffers).
Lynn Holmgren, national director of consumer care for Whirlpool, was recognized as Call Center Leader of the Year.
