Jeff Hwang, a 20-year veteran of LG Electronics, was appointed president of LG Electronics’ North American cellular phone unit. He replaces Juno Cho, who was named executive vice president for LG Corp. LG Electronics earlier announced a broad management reshuffle, replacing its chief financial officer and chief technology officer (CTO), head of its Asia operations, and vice presidents, and created a new post of chief procurement officer (CPO). Jung Do-hyun, formerly leader of the company’s finance team, took over as the new CFO. Thomas Linton, formerly vice president and CPO of Freescale Semiconductor, will be the new CPO. Paik Woo, formerly chief technology advisor, was named CTO.
