International Sales Drive Wal-Mart 4Q Profit

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said profit for its fiscal fourth-quarter grew 4% on improved performance in its U.S. stores and strong international growth.

Net income was US$4.096 billion, or $1.02 per share, in the quarter that ended Jan. 31. It was $3.94 billion, or $0.95 a share, a year earlier. Net sales grew 8.3% to $106.27 billion, helped by 18.8% international growth and 5% growth at U.S. Wal-Mart stores.
