Wal-Mart Announces New Head of Asia Retail Operations Jan 15, 2008 |

Retailer Wal-Mart announced the appointment of Vicente Trius to executive vice president, president, and CEO of Wal-Mart Asia, International. Trius will lead Wal-Mart's retail operations in Asiam where the company has more than 82,000 associates and retail units in Japan and China. The company also has a joint venture with Bharti Enterprises in India.
Trius joined Wal-Mart in 1996 as Vice President, Operations in the International Division. In 1997, he was promoted to President and CEO,
Succeeding Trius will be Hector Nunez, who will assume the position of president and CEO of Wal-Mart Brazil. Prior to his career with Wal-Mart, Nunez held a range of key positions with Coca-Cola, Del Valle, and Hertz.
