Panasonic is proposing to set up a factory to assemble plasma television sets in Thailand next year to meet heavy demand anticipated in the run-up to the 2008 Olympic Games. With its own assembly factory in Thailand, Panasonic says it will be able to offer more attractive and competitive prices for plasma sets. Currently, all Panasonic plasma panels are manufactured at the company's Amagazaki factory in Tokyo and the sets are assembled at three factories in Singapore, Russia, and China.
