Samsung Electronics was ranked the largest liquid crystal display (LCD) TV maker in the July-September period with a global market share of 18.4%, according to market research firm DisplaySearch. The report shows that Samsung has kept the top spot for the seventh straight quarter in terms of value in the global LCD TV market.
Sony was the runner-up to Samsung in the three-month period with 15.1%, while Sharp, Philips, and LG Electronics followed with 12.5%, 9.6%, and 7.6%, respectively.
Among plasma TV suppliers, Samsung came in second with 21.3% after Matsushita's 32.9%. LG Electronics ranked third with a 16.3% share.
