Springboard Engineering, which includes employees formerly with Maytag Corp. in Newton, IA, U.S. has a signed multiyear contract with Whirlpool Corp. The startup appliance design company plans to be operational by January.
Springboard Engineering also purchased an existing building in Newton. The 4000 square foot facility is being customized to meet the needs of the customers with flexibility for the future. Springboard Engineering anticipates a staff of 50 employees, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers specializing in high-volume design. (Des Moines Register)
