On June 13, 2006, Electrolux's newly independent outdoor power equipment business began trading on the Stockholm Stock Exchange as Husqvarna AB.
The new company hit the ground running. In July, it acquired Dixon Industries Inc. for approximately U.S. $34 million from Blount International Inc. Almost immediately it began planning to move production of Dixon zero-turn riding lawnmowers to the Husqvarna plant in Beatrice, Nebraska, U.S.
In September, Husqvarna agreed to acquire Komatsu Ltd.'s outdoor power products operation within Komatsu Zenoah Co. Komatsu Zenoah is a leading producer of portable outdoor power products in Japan. Products include brush cutters, chainsaws, trimmers, and blowers.
Husqvarna expected a final acquisition agreement to be signed before the end of 2006 and expected is to be completed by the first quarter of 2007. The operation will be integrated in the group's Professional Products business area.
