On Nov. 27, a new national standard incorporating Haier's safe care technology for electric water heaters was amended by the China Association for Standardization and will be officially released in Beijing, to be enforced beginning July 1, 2007. This is the first national standard originating from an enterprise patent in the history of Chinese household appliances. The new national standard for water heaters incorporates three Haier standards, i.e. water heater safety standard based on Haier's safe care technology, water heater performance standard and specifications of water heater installation.

According to the introduction by Ma Dejun, general secretary of the technology committee of the China Association for Standardization, the new national standard for water heaters relies on Haier's safe care technology in view of an electrically conductive environment. The safe care technology initiated by Haier provides the optimum safety for water heater users. As a result, it is likely to eliminate injuries.
