Dr. Robert Kugler has made the decision to resign from his post as chief operating officer of BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH. He will retire from the board of management on Dec. 31, 2006.

Dr. Kugler has been a member of the BSH management since 2000. Previously, from 1989 to 1993, he was operational manager of the manufacturing site in Berlin. He was named Eco-Manager of the Year 2002, in recognition of the fact that BSH products contribute to the preservation of natural resources. His commitment to promoting new technologies earned him an honorary doctorate from the University of Zaragoza in 2005. Under Dr. Kugler’s leadership, BSH twice won the prestigious Best Innovator competition in acknowledgement of the company’s forward-looking innovation management.

It will be recommended to the supervisory board that Prof. Werner Vogt, who has been the head of the Siemens Group Automation & Drives for many years, be appointed Dr. Kugler’s successor at the next meeting.
