Premium U.S. home appliance maker Bosch launches its first immersion hand blender, a cordless unit and one of the first kitchen appliances to utilize a lithium ion battery. The cordless configuration facilitates ease of use by the "on-the-go" gourmet.

The MIXXO(tm) by Bosch was launched in partnership with celebrity chef Todd English as part of the Todd English Collection(tm).

Bosch said the power and efficiency of the lithium ion battery means the unit requires less charging/recharging time. The unit requires 2 hours of charging before its first use, then provides up to 20 minutes of continuous blending. Bosch said the system can't be overcharged or experience loss of battery power. An LED indicator displays battery power level at all times.

The hand blender is designed with a slim ergonomic shape and is equipped with stainless steel blades. It comes with a stainless steel and detachable foot to crush ice.

For safety, the unit incorporates a dual-button system that is designed to be simple for adults while protecting children.
