AK Steel Announces Price Hikes Jul 9, 2007 |

AK Steel Corp., which produces a variety of steel products for the automotive, appliance, construction, and manufacturing industries, has imposed a U.S. $225 per ton surcharge on invoices for electric steel products shipped in August 2007. The Middletown, Ohio, U.S.-based steel maker blames higher raw materials and energy costs for its decision. It informed customers of the price increases July 6.
