Europe's Retail E-Commerce Could Double in 3 Years

Retail e-commerce sales in Western Europe will be up 36 percent in 2006, according to a new report from eMarketer. The electronic market research firm forecasts the market to double in the ext 3 years.

The United Kingdom is the market leader, followed by Germany and France. Italy and Spain account for less than 10 percent of the market, but the report says that after 2010 they will set the pace of growth.

The report, Europe Retail E-Commerce: Spotlight on the UK, Germany and France, examines the overall state of retail e-commerce in Western Europe, then focuses on the continent's three largest e-commerce economies.
