U.S. federal agents seized suspected counterfeit Solo sprayers being exhibited at the National Hardware Show by ZheJiang Shixia Sprayer Co., Ltd.

Outdoor power equipment maker Solo, Inc. (Newport News, VA) said ZheJiang Shixia refused the company’s request to remove the sprayers from its exhibit booth on the first day of the show, prompting Solo's law firm, The Global Law Group, to contact the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Custom Enforcement. Solo said Supervisory Special Agent Michael J. Cestare and two other agents visited the ZheJiang Shixia booth for nearly 2 hours and seized the sprayers.

Solo President David Longfield called it the latest in a list of trademark infractions involving ZheJiang Shixia. “We are very aggressive in the protection of our patents and trademarks, and have had repeated communications and confrontation with ZheJiang Shixia over the last several years, particularly regarding our popular Model 425 professional backpack sprayer,” Longfield said.

Solo, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of Solo Kleinmotoren GmbH in Sindelfingen, Germany, a global producer of sprayers, mistblowers, chain saws, trimmers/brushcutters, blowers, and other outdoor power equipment.
