Matsushita Industrial co., Ltd, producer of Panasonic Brand products, began making liquid crystal display TVs in Malaysia to help meet growing global demand, according to an Associated Press report. This will be the group's first facility in Asia to make LCD TVs. The company estimated LCD TV demand at 51 million units, expected to increase to 100 million by 2010. The Panasonic AVC facilities, which produce tube TVs in a plant outside of Kuala Lumpur, has been expanded to produce 26-inch and 32-inch Viera LCD TVs.
