Recognizing the proposed water-saving standards from the U.S. Green Building Council, Enodis has expanded its Enerlogic™ program to include water-saving products.
Products from Cleveland, Jackson, ICE O-Matic, and Scotsman meet the proposed water-saving standards, which are included in the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED certification for K-12 Schools. USGBC has proposed the following minimum process water use reductions to maximize water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems:
* Warewashers, maximum one gallon of water per rack
* Steamers, maximum of two gallons of water per hour, with use of boilerless steamers only.
* Ice Machines, producing more than 175 lbs. per day, maximum of 20 gallons per 100 pounds, with no water-cooled machines allowed
* Ice Machines, producing less than 175 lbs. per day, maximum of 30 gallons per 100 pounds, with no water-cooled machines allowed.
Enodis brands offer more than 100 products that meet or exceed the water-saving standard, and thus may contribute to a building's certification in the LEED program. In addition, with the continued the expansion of the Enerlogic program, the company now offers nearly 600 products certified to meet independent, third-party standards for energy-saving.
