Rheem Wants to Eliminate Online, Direct-to-Customer Sales

Rheem Manufacturing Company, Heating & Cooling Division established an aggressive policy to eliminate online, direct-to-consumer sales of its Rheem- and Ruud-branded products.

The policy, which also includes separate trademark online usage guidelines and copyright online usage guidelines, protects Rheem and Ruud distributors, contractors and homeowners from the vulnerabilities and potential dangers associated with unapproved Web and Internet auction sites. This policy also addresses the growing Rheem concern about Web sites that give the false impression they are approved, sponsored or endorsed by Rheem.
