Lowe's Says Net Income Rises on Remodeling, Appliance Sales

Lowe's Cos., the second-largest U.S. home-improvement retailer, said second-quarter profit rose as the company sold more appliances and consumers remodeled kitchens and bathrooms.
Net income increased to U.S. $935 million, or $0.60 a share, from $839 million or $0.52, a year ago, adjusted for a 2-for- 1 stock split. Sales rose to $13.4 billion from $11.9 billion, in the period ended Aug. 4.
