Automaker Revoz may be the biggest exporter from Slovenia for the 14th year running in 2006, but it may also be at risk of losing the top spot in 2007 to appliance maker Gorenje.
According to the Slovene Press Agency STA, Revoz, owned by Renault, exported goods worth 973.7 million euros (approx. U.S. $1.301 billion), or about 5.8 percent of total exports from Slovenia. Gorenje's exports were worth 903.3 million euros (approx. $1.209 billion), or about 5.4 percent of the total. Revoz and Gorenje are the only frontrunners, and recent financial reports from Gorenje show 2006 increases in net profits were well above forecasts, following strong growth in 2005.
