Royal Philips has won notable awards in both Europe and Asia for designing energy efficient products with a reduced environmental impact.

The European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA)--comprised of 50 magazines from 20 countries--has named one of Philips's flat TV's European Green TV of the Year, 2006 to 2007. On the other side of the world, the Philips' micro jukebox recently received the bronze prize in the 2006 Hong Kong Eco-Products Awards, a competition of the Hong Kong Business Environment Council.

The judges were impressed by the products very low power consumption; for the flat TV 15 percent less than that of its nearest competitor. They also appreciated the easier end-life disassembly enabling components to be separated for recycling or safe disposal.
